Thank you to all who participated in the Pumpkin Festival at the Library! In all we had 27 pumpkins lining the sidewalk, and some great carvings. To view all the entries, and the winners, go to our Facebook page! (If you haven’t already “Liked” us, find us under Valley Falls Free Library).
ARE YOUR PUMPKINS READY?!
Today, starting at 5:30PM, the library will hold a Jack-O-Lantern lighting event!! Bring a carved or decorated pumpkin to the library to line the sidewalks, for lighting at 6:00PM. (Some candles will be available if you need one). There will be prizes given for the best Jack-O-Lantern in several different categories. Cider and donuts will be served, and a good time will be had by all.
Even if you don’t have a pumpkin to display, come join us!
UPDATE: The Board is reviewing the decision to increase the cost of color copying. At this time, we will keep the price at $.15 per page.
The Valley Falls Library is pleased to announce the expansion of the services of our library to anyone in the service area (the Village of Valley Falls and the Town of Pittstown) who cannot easily come to the library in person: someone unable to negotiate our stairs, a Mom with kids at home, someone with no car or home-bound. Patrons can select material of interest from books, magazines, movies and music by telephone, email or via a volunteer delivery person. All the usual fines, fees and expectations of patron responsibility will apply through Your Library in Motion. If you are interested in learning more about this new service, please contact us by phone or email, and we can help determine the best way to serve you.
If you are interested in volunteering to deliver library materials to our patrons, please contact us.
The Valley Falls Library will be closed Saturday, October 6th for the Columbus Day weekend. We will be open Tuesday, October 9th at our normal hours.
