We are happy to announce that Valley Falls Free Library is a member of the Library Membership Program of the Adirondack Experience, the Museum on Blue Mountain Lake.
The library has a laminated discount pass which you may borrow, just as you would a book. When you present the pass at the museum’s Visitor Center, you will receive a 50% discount on admission for up to four adults, or two adults and all children 17 and under. After a fun-filled day, simply return the pass so that it may be checked out by others. (Please note: the pass is not available through inter-library loan.)
The Adirondack Experience is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, and the 2017 season runs from May 26 through October 9. Of particular interest is their brand-new, 19,000 square foot state-of-the-art interactive experience, Life in the Adirondacks. This massive exhibition combines the latest digital technology with real hands-on experiences, to bring the spirit of adventure and breathtaking natural beauty of the Adirondacks to life. Life in the Adirondacks melds real Adirondack artifacts with modern-day technology, and is scheduled to open July 1.
The Adirondack Experience offers a variety of indoor and outdoor experiences, including hands-on experiences for kids of all ages; festivals and special events throughout the season; outstanding collections of Adirondack artwork and historic watercraft; and a wooded path to Minnow Pond. You can picnic on the grounds of their beautiful 121-acre campus, or simply relax in an Adirondack chair and watch the clouds roll by. The Adirondack Experience has something for everyone!
